Your Parent’s Estate Plan: Will It Work When You Need It?

No matter what your parents own, whether rich or poor, you need to be helping them by asking these questions. When your parents become incapacitated or die, their affairs (maybe their mess?) will become your responsibility. When that happens, it will be too late to ask them what they own, what to do, and what they want. If your parents have a plan that they made more than five years ago, their plan is likely out of date, and you are the one that will be left with lots of unanswered questions and not knowing which way to turn. Additionally, you will probably have to dig into your pocket because their plan doesn’t exist or doesn’t work. So do yourself a favor today; make sure your parent’s estate planning is up to date and will work when needed. Better safe than sorry!
